The World Association for Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology- African Network (WAAVP-AN) is a brand-new new Pan-African initiative aimed at (1) filling the knowledge gaps on critical African veterinary parasites, (2) strengthening scientific and technical communication and networking on veterinary parasitology in Africa and (3) providing expert recommendations on topics relevant to veterinary parasitology in Africa.
The Network is supported by the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF).
Our Vision
engaged community of experts
WAAVP-AN’s vision is to become an engaged community of experts that fosters a collaborative approach for sustainable management of parasitic diseases affecting animals in Africa to improve food security, animal welfare and the environmental sustainability of animal husbandry
The mission of the WAAVP-AN is to promote best practices for managing veterinary parasites in Africa and disseminate this knowledge to its members and communities affected by animal parasites. By enhancing communication, coordination and cooperation and collating projects across borders, WAAVP-AN will support its members, including researchers and other communities, by providing a central repository of information, experiences, and veterinary parasitology experts within the continent.
